I remember when Limpbizkit used to be a great band and used to make great records back in the early 2000′s. I remember popping in “Significant Other” and thinking the music on that album was some of the most awesome shit I had ever heard, and idolizing Wes Borland for his incredible guitar licks and [...]

The more I see regarding this Tomb Raider reboot, the more I think this game might end up being the best game in the 15 year history of the series. Completely genius so far, and what a beautifully done trailer (even if it IS all CGI).

Dear cable company: I’m still on the internet. I win. You lose.

As you’ve probably noticed, I haven’t posted anything on this site for over a week nor been available through Skype/AIM/MSN or any other instant messaging program. Well there’s a reason for that, and it has to do with me currently being a customer of one of the crappiest (and most poorly rated) cable companies in the Northeastern US.

Hollywood: Why cant we make movies like this anymore?

Released in 2008, (and directed by Moulin Rouge! director Baz Luhrmann) Australia is a beautiful film that somehow managed to slip under the public radar, and despite it’s high production values (130 million) never really got the respect [nor the attention] it deserved.

And what a shame that is because this movie is extraordinary. Combining a war movie with the western, romance, comedy and drama genres effortlessly, this movie is the closest Hollywood has come to a ‘Golden Age’ quality movie in decades….

Been a pretty busy day for me. For those who enjoy hearing my mash-ups, here are two fresh creations right out of the oven:

Linkin Park Vs. De La Soul – Wretches & Oohs

Sometimes ideas come to you out of nowhere, and stick with you like a bad itch until they are addressed. This was one of these ideas that came into my head out of nowhere, and was such a bizarre idea that I felt I had to try it. I was surprised by how well the vocals rode the beat, and the visuals I get in my head of Mike riding down Hollywood Blvd with a 40oz in his hand, with a gold grill while rapping this song is both amusing and hilarious. It might not be as aggressive as the original song, but I feel the De La Soul instrumental gives the song a whole new feel.

Five to six years ago, around the time of The Rising Tied’s release, I began work on a mash-up combining Fort Minor’s “Petrified” and the Sugarhill Gang’s “Rapper’s Delight” which I had gotten pretty far with but for reasons unknown forgot to bring to completion. Recently after hooking up my old computer’s hard drive to an External IDE enclosure, I found the demo of the track and decided to recreate it from scratch and above is the finished result. Amazing how inspiration strikes in the weirdest places.

Please let me know what you think of my latest mixes in the comments, and of course be sure to follow my youtube page for more mashups as they become available!

My latest mashup featuring Linkin Park’s “Blackout” and the 80s classic “Blue Monday” by New Order is now available. I’m very proud of it and I hope you will enjoy it too. Please watch in HD. Before I post the following link, I’m well aware that the people discussed in this article do not reflect the United States military as a whole. I’m also aware of what damage a few people can do to an entire generation (Vietnam war vets being unfairly referred to as “baby killers”) but this article just [...]

Well done YouTube.

NOTE: Play the video on the right first. You must start the video on the left literally right after the moment the video on the right says :00 for it to work best. Really awesome concept.

Wow, the last time I updated this site was in February of 2010. I’m not entirely sure what happened over the last 13 months that lead to me abandoning this site and it’s updates altogether, but I guess with everything that was going on in my life this last year…Silent Hope kind of fell to [...]

So this week has been quite an eventful week weather wise for Pennsylvania and it’s surrounding states. On Saturday my town got hit with 18″-23″ inches of snow (including snow drifts), with another foot and a half of snow hitting the state on Wednesday, sending many areas (including mine) into blizzard/white-out conditions and basically crippling the state [and my cellphone from the amount of concerned texts I got asking why the hell I was at work and not at home]. While I may wonder now why I came in, with the weather the way it was…it’s safe to say this is the worst storm I’ve ever had since I’ve lived in this house, and potentially one of the worst I’ve ever seen. period. The fact that Philadelphia set a record for the worst snowfall in a season since the 1800s (in one week!), suggests that perhaps this is the worst winter…and we’re not even done yet. I’d expect more snow before the spring…

For those of you who are unaware; or do not know me through my website www.lpassociation.com, I run a Linkin Park fansite called The Linkin Park Association of which I’ve been running for close to seven years. Earlier on in the week we got the awesome opportunity to have a Q&A with lead vocalist Chester Bennington, after which we submitted a question to Mike Shinoda (emcee of the band) to get answered at his art show: Glorious Excess (dies). Above is what Mike Shinoda had to say about my site and it’s staff.

Pretty amazing moment. I’ve spent a lot of my life following this band (seven years of it), and to be noticed by the very guys I have a website made for…well that’s just the icing on the cake. Thanks Mike!

An oldie, but a goodie. This remix was done by my friend Keaton and is one of the best reinterpretations I’ve seen done of a Nine Inch Nails song in a while. Please digg this story so that this mix can get out there. Thank you.
