Am I the only one who has been absolutely dumbfounded by the hoopla surrounding Meghan McCain recentely over the past few weeks? For those who do not know, Meghan McCain has been the subject of criticism in the media lately over a picture she posted on her twitter; prominently showing her cleavage, or in the very least showing more tit then the press can handle.
My question is, what’s the big deal? Get over it! Seriously they’re just tits. Most of these people up in arms (including the morons on her twitter calling her a “slut”) have likely seen breasts in their lifetime, have had sex dozens of times, or probably even have seen worse in movies or on television. Remind me why it is a crime for a woman (an attractive woman might I add) to show a little bit of cleavage, or be confident in her figure when men are over-sexualized, shirtless, semi-nude and indecent in magazine ads all the time without complaint? Why is a woman being treated differently than a male? Where was the criticism of Lenny Kravitz when he showed his ass on twitter? This sickening double standard enforced on female society shows that despite how far we have come to ensure women receive equal or fair treatment, that we..as a people, still have very far to go for women’s rights before this discrimination can come to an end.
I’m a man, who doesn’t believe woman are inferior, and who also believes that a woman can do a job just as well as a man, if not even better. I do not object to a woman being President, or even Vice President, and I even hope to see such a thing happen sometime in my lifetime.
Which is why I feel it is time that we stop referring to women as the ‘weaker sex’. Women go through more pain and discrimination than males in this society, and yet they still face the world with courage and an infallible drive to succeed and prove society wrong. Despite being pressured by society to conform to what they believe a woman should act like, many women defy these expectations and accomplish great things.
There is no reason women should be treated differently, and even as a guy…I feel woman should receive more respect.
Girls: If you have a beautiful figure, and you feel confident about it…don’t be afraid to wear sexy clothes that show it off. Being sexy and confident does not make you a slut despite what people might try to tell you.
Be confident in yourself and if you’ve got it? Flaunt it.
